I just HAVE to list some funny quotes from the book: Feb 05, Heather rated it really liked it. But I guess success lies in the balance of all these elements.

Back from the Undead

Speaking of the devil, it was weird watching Stoker and Jace working together rather amicably. Jace and Charlie are the best team I think I’ve ever read.

Yep, sarcastic comments, weird stuff, drama, danger, and a crazy plot that leaves Uace chasing leads.

I am clearly a fan of Mr. Sep 22, Stephanie F rated it it was amazing. Jace was brought over from her world to this one to track down and capture or kill a serial killer known as Aristotle Stoker. He can match Jace in her sarcasm when the moment calls for it.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. The hook for this story is supposedly a child trafficking ring; however, D. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. There is where I docked the star. One thing I’ve noticed lately in these last 3 covers–including the next one–are the wolves that surround Jace. My biggest gripe about him was that I thought he needed more character development to make his change in BFTU believable. I enjoy the Asian touch, in terms of Shinto and Japanese spirit gods.

It almost seems the author had no real plan in mind. Cassius disappeared on a case that took him away from Jace, and soon Jace was on a case herself. Want to Read saving…. He didn’t showed up again till the end, barring Jace’s dreams.

Instead there was a lot of Japanese mythology thrown in, mixed with magic, a bunch of gods, the Yakuza and to top it off, a Samurai. Jace didn’t just visit “the homicide capital of the world [filled with vampires, lycanthropes, and golems],” she also visit Hell.

I do feel slightly bad about Tanaka view spoiler [that he had himself killed in the name of honor he owed Jace hide spoiler ] but at the same time, I never develop some sort of sympathy for him — unlike the one I feel for Dr.

Surprisingly, Bxrrant wasn’t bothered by these changes. Called North Hollywood the area is ruled by corrupt cops, yakuza, triad, and other various assorted nastiness. On one hand, I wanted to scream at Jace to shoot the guy already before he ran away again.

The books are well written with believable characters and the stories flow well. I will be remaining a fan of the character as well as the author regardless as the adventures Jace has taken me on have been wild and entertaining all the way. I wish things could have gone differently. I don’t know what it was, but undsad made the book go by a little slower.

I’m glad she finally has Stoker in custody, although, I baack to say I feel a bit sorry for him. Charlie, along with Eisfanger, was with Jace on her case but Charlie didn’t play a big role compared to the other books because Stoker took some of that spotlight.

Back from the Undead (Bloodhound Files, book 5) by D D Barant

Many unexpected circumstances help Jace and many hinder, and through it all bxck the erotic but jumbled dreams she is having of her and David.

It was just all about Jace and her case and the evil villians. My only complain has to be that when Jace and Cassius finally get together something I’d been hoping for awhile we don’t barratn m I love this series.

I love the trust she has in her allies and the depth that she will go for them. Not a nice place to visit—or to have angry at you.

But with the help of her former lover, Tanaka—whose family is one of the last samurai clans left in Japan—she stands a chance at seeking justice for the condemned children… Until the Yakuza tries to put an end to Jace’s investigation. She succeeds and, in an interesting twist Wow It would seem so: Once again agent Jace Valcek cannot stay on task. I also liked the addition of two more Greater Gods. I really love the wacky humor of alternate Vancouver as the major center for narcotics trade and multicultural melting pot.

I couldn’t finish it.

Barant’s The Bloohound Files. Stoker informs her there are a bunch of missing Pire children, and she needs to help.
